But behind all of those innovations was something simpler—**tools**. Real, physical, hands-on tools. And at **Busoga International Polytechnic (BIP)**, students aren’t just reading about them—they’re using them. --- ### 🌀 **The Lathe: Mother of All Machines** Used as far back as ancient Egypt, the **lathe** became the foundation of the Industrial Revolution. > 📍Fun Fact: It’s called the “mother of all machines” because it can be used to create the parts for nearly every other machine. Today, BIP students use precision lathes to shape metal components for construction, engines, and manufacturing.
