Graduate Spotlight: Sharuwah Waliggo Nantaba — Construction Department
🏗️ Building Skills With Purpose
Among the class of 2025, Sharuwah Waliggo Nantaba shines as a student whose passion for construction is deeply connected to her commitment to community development. As a graduate of the Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Construction and Building, Sharuwah blended technical skill, creativity, and determination throughout her journey at Busoga International Polytechnic.
“I have always been fascinated by how buildings and infrastructure shape our communities,” she says. For her, construction isn’t just about putting up structures — it’s a pathway to solving real challenges, improving infrastructure, and supporting sustainable progress.
🔨 Growing Through Hands-On Experience
Sharuwah’s time at the polytechnic wasn’t only about mastering technical content. She developed discipline, resilience, teamwork, and a professional mindset through active, practical learning.
One memorable highlight was a demanding group project: designing a small security shelter under tight deadlines and limited resources.
It pushed her problem-solving abilities and strengthened her collaboration skills — lessons she calls essential for any real-world construction environment.
🌍 A Vision for Sustainable and Inclusive Development
Looking forward, Sharuwah hopes to join a reputable construction firm where she can apply her hands-on training to meaningful projects. She has a strong interest in advancing her education through additional studies or certifications in sustainable building practices.
Her long-term vision is clear: contribute to safer, more affordable, and environmentally responsible construction — while mentoring young people who dream of careers in engineering and technical fields.
❤️ Gratitude That Built Her Foundation
Sharuwah acknowledges her lecturers, classmates, and family for their guidance and encouragement along the way.
“My lecturers and local engineers inspired me, showing that with dedication and integrity, we can literally build a better future,” she reflects.
📘 What She Will Miss
As she steps into the next chapter, Sharuwah says she will miss the vibrant learning environment, the friendships, and the motivation that came with every new challenge and project.
